Howdy, everybody! Little Jake here, and I was a surprise baby. As the rescue team was gearing up to head to the shelter and 'spring' Wrangler in late February 2016, they also noticed me on the shelter's site '| and they couldn't look away. I mean, c'mon, who could?! I'm freakin' adorable! My personality is as sweet as my face. I'm an easygoing, loving little guy who loves just hanging out. People are awesome, and the other dogs don't faze me. I have been on slow-kill for heartworms, but, unfortunately, it didn't do the trick, so I to have my first round of fast-kill in mid-July. I am available now for foster or adoption, but will need to ... (Read More)take it easy for a few weeks while all of this nasty worms die off and pass out of my system. I'm a Corgi/Terrier mix, about 2 years old and around 16 lbs. And did I mention, I'm adorable? OK, just in case I forgot '| (Less)

The truth about my story? They don't really know much about my story. I was at the kill shelter (with Molly and Polly) in June 2016 when a supporter there reached out to the rescue to save us. They didn't have much information on me - only that I was young and very sweet, both of which I definitely am. I had a few health-related issues from the shelter to overcome, but am getting all of my baby shots. I will be tutored and should be able to roll out of rescue soon, healthy as a young boy can be. As you can tell from my photos, I love having fun in the sun with people. I'm about 6 months old and weigh a solid 16 lbs. I'm sweet, curious, and ... (Read More)will let you know when I want attention. (Yes, one of those things I need to learn when it's 'ok' to and when it's not.) If you're looking for a young guy to show the ropes, please feel free to go ahead and put in an application for me. When I'm ready, we can meet up and see how things go. (Less)

Jack Russell    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Hi, everyone! Little Molly here. They don't really know much about my story because my paperwork is limited. All they do know is that I was on death row at the kill shelter in June with Polly. It's not clear if she's my daughter or my sister, but our paperwork says we're both about 4-5 years old and our owner said we wouldn't stay home, so she didn't want us. I don't really know what all of that means. I just know we were both very sick with kennel cough when we first arrived and had a rough time at first. We're finally feeling better now and warming up to all of the volunteers, who keep giving us lots of TLC. I'm a little more cautious ... (Read More)than Polly, but I love the attention '| and treats! Now that we're healthy enough, we will be going to the vet soon to get all of our shots and be spayed. We may find out how old we really are, too. Because of that, it will be a few weeks (late July) before we're ready to go home, but we wanted to let the concerned volunteers at the shelter know where we are and how we're doing. When I am available for adoption, it would be great if Polly and I could be adopted together, but it's not a must. We're in kennels next door and seem to do OK, together or separately. You are welcome to go ahead and complete a foster/adoption application, if you're interested now. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello. I'm Sparky. I'm still a little confused and scared about why I'm here, but they assure me I'll get over that quickly and get feisty at JRT-U. My heart was recently broken when my family moved and decided they couldn't take me with them. They dropped me off at the kill shelter with 'my child' watching everything. I'm sure they are as sad and lost as me. But it 'is what it is,' I guess, and now I must move on. I really love Mama Donna and the vols I've met so far and am looking forward to a new life. I'm 5 years old, around 18 lbs., heartworm negative, UTD on shots, and get along fine with other dogs, children, cats, etc. I'm even ... (Read More)housebroken. I'm very laid-back and submissive. I love to be loved on and will easily roll over for belly rubs. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-12-00584Baby Girl (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Hello, big world. Baby girl here. Am I cute or what? Yes, I was definitely somebody's baby girl. I lived with a person who loved me very much, but, unfortunately, went to the human Rainbow Bridge. I didn't have anyone else to take care of me, so now I am searching for a new person or family to call my own and return the love I have to give. I'm an adorable, 16-lb. Terrier/Beagle mix, about 4 years old and very sweet, smart, easygoing and fun-loving. I mostly enjoy being with people, belly scratches, cuddling and treats. I will sometimes do a little 'tap-dance' and howl when I first see you that makes me even more adorable. I'm not a big ... (Read More)fan of other dogs, though, so I would do best as an only dog. I have a health issue that makes me extra special. Because of what was probably damage from a prior kidney infection, I can't 'concentrate' my urine. This leads me to wanting to drink obsessively (which, of course, can lead to bloat and additional damage). Fortunately, they have found me a very affordable diabetic medication that is helping me control this. Yay! I have to take it three times a day, but it's only $30/month and it's working wonders. The rescue says they will even help with my medications for a few months, if someone will give me the home I deserve. Other than that small issue, I am nothing short of awesome! Can I be your Baby Girl? (Less)

Jack Russell    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Hello, two legged-peeps, I'm Turner. I was at rescue for a few months in the summer of 2015, but you didn't hear much about me because I had some troubles going on. I know, hard to believe looking at me - I'm freakin' gorgeous! I was hit by a truck-yes, a truck-when I was younger. My family could not afford to help me, and my back hips did not heal well like they should have. I was only 2-3, but I had dealt with pain for most of my life. I was very stiff legged and could barely lift my leg to pee '| although, trust me, I tried to about 200x a day. After all, I'm a Jack and I'm a boy! Must. Claim. Everything. Because I was uncomfortable, ... (Read More)I could be snippy sometimes and I snapped at people and other dogs on more than one occasion. That, however, is all behind me now, thanks to some therapy and medication! I've been in a temporary foster home and am doing great. I don't mind being touched and loved on and get along fine with the other dogs. I thought I had a home a couple of months ago, but things haven't quite worked out. We're still working with our sister rescue to place me in a northern home, but they are listing me again here to let you know I'm still available. Some of you had expressed an interest in me way back when. Overall, I'm a wonderful, smart boy who just wants to have fun. I am (again) all Jack and would do best in a home with someone who is Jack-savvy and understands that, even though my hip will have some permanent weakness, I am still gung-ho when it comes to playing and running! Thanks to living in foster care, I am fully house- and crate-trained and get along great with other dogs and all humans now. (Less)

Howdy, everyone! You may remember me from 2013 when I first arrived at rescue. I was adopted a couple of years ago and had a great life, but then we had to move. I ended up in an apartment, which just wasn't right for me. If you recall, I'm a very active boy. I like to be engaged, learning new things and constantly staying active or I can get a little anxious. Mom and the rescue both decided it would be best to bring me back here, where I can play in the field with the others every day until I can find a new home that it better suited to my needs. So, here I am. I know some of you had fallen in love with me originally, so guess what - ... (Read More)here's your chance to adopt me again! I love to play ball, run and am very curious about everything. I'm also very smart and picked up on agility right away. That said, I will need an active owner/family and some guidance from a very experienced JRT parent. I am a strong young boy (around 4-5 years old), am UTD on shots and am heartworm negative. I love people and am fine with most other dogs. (Less)

Hello, there. Wrangler here. I arrived at rescue in late February from the kill shelter. They don't really know much about my history, just that I am adorable and needed help. I'm all Jack when it comes to playing. I tried lure chasing and racing and I was awesome! But I also love lying on laps for hours. I would probably do best as an only dog, but if you have another dog, please bring them out to meet me and see how we do. I'm all vetted up, up-to-date on my shots, and hearworm negative. I'm about 16 lbs., handsome as can be and around 2 years old.

Hello, everyone. L'il Lily Rae here. I arrived in spring of 2016 from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina, where I was surrendered with my younger brother, Oliver, who has since been adopted. I'm 8 years old, around 13 lbs., UTD on shots and heartworm negative. They noticed I was limping when I arrived, so they had that checked out. Turns out, I have arthritis in about every joint of my body. Booo! I have been taking Dasuquin, though, and it is already working wonders. I'm always ready to roll and you'd never know.     Howdy, everyone! Spike here. My older sister, Molly, and I lived in a home with our dad, but he didn't always get along with our mom and was sometimes not as nice as he should have been to her. It wasn't good for anyone, especially us, so when things got really scary with red and blue lights, we had to be surrendered to the shelter. We'll just leave it at that. The awesome folks at Jacks Galore Russell Rescue saw our story-and the fact that we were about to be 'put down,' whatever that means-and they couldn't let that happen. They had us pulled, and one of the vols here at Georgia Jack Russell Rescue came to get us because they were closer ... (Read More)and could make a last-minute run to get us. Molly had tumors on her belly, horrible teeth, and really bad skin issues, so she went straight to the vet. I only had a few skin issues, so I came here to wait for transport. But then the folks here had this thing called Spring Vol Day. I met a ton of people, who gave me a ton of love, attention and treats and even took my pictures. Some even said, 'If we didn't already have so many dogs '|' I don't know exactly what that means; I guess they wanted to take me home but couldn't. They just kept telling me how incredibly adorable I am while I went for walks and melted into their arms '| something about my 'adorable head' on my Jack body. Eventually, Kennedy's family did take me home to foster me, and I have been staying with him and his pack since. Even though I've been through a lot, I totally trust people - men and women. I like children, but my foster family recently discovered that I have some nerve issues around my legs and back hips. Anti-anxiety meds (which also help with nerve pain) have been helping greatly, but I could nip a child, if handled or picked up wrong. We wouldn't want to risk that. I am UTD on shots, neutered, heartworm negative and around 6-7 years old. (Less)

Hello, everybody! How are you?! How's life?! What's going on?! Am I excited?! Of course, I am! I'm a 10-month-old Jack Russell puppy! Everything is new(!), exciting(!), overwhelming(!) %BD'%BD| well, you get the gist. I was purchased from a breeder by a mature couple, who very much loved me. Unfortunately, my mother got very sick, and my father had to focus on taking care of her. I'm a bit high-maintenance (as all puppies are, especially Terriers), so they gave me to their daughter's family, hoping I would fit in. Unfortunately, again %BD'%BD| they already had a couple of older dogs who weren't 'thrilled' with my puppy energy and ... (Read More)needs. Their parents also worked full-time and knew I needed a lot of guidance and TLC, so they made the decision to surrender me to the rescue. I have been here for a couple of months, have met a lot of new people at Spring Vol Day and JRT Fun Day, and have learned a lot of new things. That said, I still need to learn a lot more new things %BD'%BD| like how to get along with other dogs. I'm working on that and getting better everyday, though. I just like to be the boss. So %BD'%BD| with all that said %BD'%BD| as adorable as I am, I am not a puppy for the first-time Jack Russell parent. I am exploding with energy and excitement and I need a lot of focus, guidance and positive reinforcement and outlets for this energy. I probably wouldn't be good with kids as I'm very much a baby myself and need to learn some manners around other dogs, much less little two-legged ones. But one thing is for sure - I am one smart girl! I sit beautifully, am treat-motivated, and love to learn new things. This whole ball and agility thing has been awesome for me. I just participated in my first for-fun races and lure chases and I aced them both! With the right parent(s), I am going to be a rock star! (Less)

Hello, everybody! L'il Abby here. I was a 'surprise' from my dad to my mom as a gift and, well, you know how that goes. It rarely ends up well. My parents are truck drivers and always on the go. I didn't like being on the go at all. The road was no place for me. So, they had to give me up. But that's OK. I am getting lots of attention and playtime here at rescue. I can only imagine how great my next real home will be! I am a little skittish at first around strangers, but I warm up quickly with a treat and reassurance. I will even delight you with my adorable belly walk! Give me a couple more weeks here around all these peeps who love and ... (Read More)want to help me, and I will probably be over that. I just didn't have a lot of socialization before, so the world can be a scary place. I like other dogs and want to play with them, but I still need to learn how to properly approach them.
